5-30 Juncture Room

This large room's purpose is not exactly evident. However, the southern wall has been painted to depict a massive, purple skinned ogre reaching out of an abyss, with mouth wide and hands balled into fists.

5-29 A Pool of Mud

The center of this room is dominated by a shallow pool. Much like many of the pools in this complex, it is surrounded by a short stone wall, just six inches high and a foot wide. This pool's water is so muddy as to be opaque.

5-28 Northern Amplifier Chamber

This oddly shaped chamber is an acoustic nightmare. Every sound in the room is amplified greatly, and focused toward the eastern wall.

  • The amplification effect is at least partly magical. Any loud noise, shouting, or the like, is actually amplified enough that everyone in the room must make a save vs. death ray or take 2d6 damage, and be deafened for 1d4 rounds.
  • The treasure in this room is in a metal bucket. Attempting to move it will cause a loud noise unless a thief does so via appropriate skills.

Monsters: None

Treasure: 2000 sp, 1000 gp

5-26 Curtained Room with a Knight's Statue

5-25 Restful Benches

This room appears to be one of the quiet, restful rooms within this complex. The walls are painted with murals depicting the interior of an inn, while wooden benches line the walls, allowing one to sit and relax. At least, once the room is cleared.

Monsters: 3 rust monsters

Treasure: None

5-24 An Assortment of Hooks and Chains

The full length of this enclosed chamber is riddled with dozens, if not hundreds of chains dangling from the ceiling, ending in wicked iron hooks. They are rusty, but still in relatively whole condition. Here and there, pieces of strange meat and segments of bodies are suspended from the hooks.

  • An individual may navigate this room carefully, so long as no one else is within the room. If two or more characters are trying to move through the room, however, their movements disturb the chains, which are sharp enough, and balanced in pairs via loops in the ceiling, which will inevitably cause them to catch and scratch or hook at exposed skin. Once more than one person is moving through the room, each additional person will automatically cause 1d6 damage to anyone within the room each round. So 2 people cause 1d6 to everyone each round, 3 people cause 2d6 each round, etc. This may occur even through armor, due to the nature of the entangling chains.

Treasure: 5000 sp, 1200 gp

5-23 Statue of the Judge

This may have once been some sort of court. There's marks on the stone floor where benches once stood, although they have long been removed. Dominating the northern section of this room is a large statue of a robed elf, gazing down with arms crossed.

  • Persons passing through this room may get the feeling that they are being watched by the statue. Within this room, it takes an effort to tell any lie or deception, a save vs. spells is required to do so. Likewise, any magical shapechange or illusion is dispelled unless the subject makes a save vs. spells.

5-22 Bottom of the Pit

This chamber was perhaps once used for storage, or for passage of things from far above. A shaft in the ceiling opens over a bare stone floor.

  • The shaft above leads to the appropriate floors above, and may be scaled by those with the proper gear and skill.
  • There is a body, long dead and decayed, laying on the floor beneath the shaft.

5-20 Forlorn Storage Area

This otherwise ordinary room appears to have several crates and chests stashed along the east wall.

  • The door to this room is locked.
  • The crates and chests are empty. If they are searched or opened, the door will close and lock (standard lock). It may be forced as normal as well. 1d4 rounds after the door is shut, the room will begin to grow colder, and will inflict 1d4 points of cold damage each round until the door is opened.

5-18 The Elven Feasthall

In contrast to so much of the dungeon so far, this room is well kept. The murals on the walls depict an ancient elven palace, and they have been restored, with the magics that upkept them so long reinvigorated, giving the images an apperance of moving. A fine table and benches are present within the room, covered with platters, plates, bowls, and goblets, presenting a feast.

  • The feast is magically conjured, and refreshes itself every 24 hours.

Monsters: 8 elves (longbow and 12 arrows, sword, shield, plate) (treat as elves, but chaotic. They are in service to Sor-Avel, and may seek to capture the party if they show signs of having obvious magic items)

Treasure: 4000 ep plus personal

5-17 The Three Chambers of Wonder

Three irregular rooms are connected into a sort of winding hallway. The walls are covered with a slick, glistening slime, and innumerable plants seem to erupt from cracks in the ground, growing up in the light of a curious green glow that suffuses the ceiling.

  • This chamber's plantlife has a number of exotic sorts from all over the world, and may optionally be harvested to craft various poultices and poisons. While traversing this room, an encounter check should be made the first time each individual sub-room is entered during an expedition.

5-15 A Vicious Dining Hall

Monsters: 2 minotaurs

Treasure: None

5-13 Charger's Storage Room

Once within, there are a few boxes and crates scattered within an otherwise plain looking room.

  • The door to this chamber is locked (the key is with the Chargers in 5-14).
  • This chamber's walls are coated with a strange fungus. If an open flame is brought into the room, it will stir them to release clouds of spores over 1d4 rounds. Once the spores have been released, anyone within the room must save vs. poison or take 1d6 damage until removed to an area with clear air.

Monsters: None

Treasure: 2000 sp, 800 gp

5-11 The Hall of Faces

This long hall may once have been some sort of gallery. The walls are carved with stone relief in the shape of hundreds of strange faces, ranging from a few inches across to a few feet across. All stare blankly ahead toward the middle area of the room.

  • If the faces are searched or inspected closely, they begin to wail and scream. They continue to scream as long as any living begins remain in the room, and for 1d4 rounds thereafter. Characters within the room that can hear them must make a saving throw vs. paralyzation or become paralyzed with fear. At the same time, make an encounter check each round while the faces are screaming.

Monsters: None

Treasure: 2000 sp, 800 gp, gem (worth 500 gp)

5-10 An Oval Chamber

This large oval chamber has an arched ceiling, from which is suspended the spine and skull of some sort of dragon. The chains that keep the remnant of the skeleton up are sturdy, if worn. A withered corpse lies on the floor in the center of the room.

Monsters: Wraith (hidden among the dragon bones near the ceiling, will attempt to surprise party.)

Treasure: (on corpse): 2000 ep, scroll of protection from elementals, sword +2, ring of invisibility, boots of levitation

5-9 A Wide Corridor

The passage here widens into what might have been a preparation room. The walls have once been painted, but have been scoured of anything of meaning, just leaving scraps of color here and there. There are pegs and holes where once wooden benches were set along the walls on the north and east sides of the room.

  • Midway along the west wall of the room, a 10'x10' section of floor is set to fold down into a pit trap below. It will immediately drop any human sized character into it unless they make a save vs. breath weapon. A halfling will only set the trap off and subsequently have to make the save on a roll of 1-2 on 1d6. The trap itself is about 20' deep, and terminates in spikes that deal an additional 1d8 damage on top of falling damage. More importantly, the stone slab of the floor will pivot back into place, locking anyone who falls into the pit inside without outside assistance (or a herculean effort of strength or leverage).

5-8 Echoing Wings

This oddly shaped room is divided into two lobes, connected with a narrower section. The walls are curiously smooth and polished to a shine.

  • There is a constant, distant echo of any movement that occurs within. If the characters are not stealthy, the feedback from their own movements will quickly become a cacaphony, requiring an encounter check every round they remain within.

Monsters: None

Treasure: None

5-6 The Treasury

The walls of this room are covered with murals painted to resemble some sort of couting house or treasury, with images of chests, stacks of coins, and so on. There are a few very real chests set against the far wall of this room.

  • The floor of this room in the center is fitted with a pressure plate. It may be bypassed by going around it, otherwise, there is a 1 in 6 chance that it is depressed any time someone steps upon it. If the pressure plate is triggered, numerous darts will fire from small holes hidden among the images on the murals. Anyone within the main section of the room will be attacked by 1d4 darts, THAC0 20, 1d6 damage on a hit.

Monsters: None

Treasure: 6000 sp, 800 gp in chests

5-2 Guardian Boars

It is difficult to tell what this room once was. The floor is  gouged and stained by innumerable past battles throughout the centuries. The walls have been defaced with crude graffiti, of varying ages. Where once hung tapestries far above, now only bare rods and occasional tattered segments of rope remain.

  • This is where Chip's watchman stands guard. The watchman will attempt to challenge intruders, but if wounded will automatically seek to flee to room 4.

Monsters: 1 wereboar, 2 boars
