9-30 Camping Grounds


 

This room has been converted into a crude camp. A number of large straw mats have been laid out on the floor, and there are bone fragments and discarded rags strewn here and there.

9-29 Room of Dead Vines


 

The walls of this room are covered with dead vines. The brown and brittle plants seem to have grown up out of cracks in the stone floor, spread across the walls, and then died an unknowable time ago.

  • The vines here are very flammable, and can be burned away, or broken away with minimal effort.
  • If the vines are cleared, they will be be present again, just as dead and dried as they were, one week later. There is no known way to actually see them grow along the walls in a living manner.

9-28 An Unsettling Lair


 

Something large has made its home in what was once a juncture hall. Murals have been scoured from the walls by the action of large claws and corrosive material, while the floor is scattered with bones, fragments of stone, and numerous other pieces of debris.

9-27 Oval Juncture


 

This oval room has smooth walls that ascend to an oblong dome far above. A set of sturdy chains are bolted into the peak of the ceiling, although they no longer support whatever they once did.

9-26 Plain Loading Room


 

This plain stone room has a stone ramp in the center of it, which raises up to a platform about two foot off the ground on the south end. Perhaps it was used to load things onto something, although how a vehicle would get out of this room is a mystery.

9-25 Two Long Pools

 

Two long, narrow, shallow pools stretch across the center of this chamber. The water within them is muddy and slightly glittering.

  • Anyone who submerges themselves within the pools gets a 2 point bonus to their armor class for the next 8 hours. This may only be done once per day.

9-24 The Grand Stairs Down


 

A set of curved stairways descend to a landing, from which another stair descends into the bottom of this chamber far below. Guardrails offer little protection from the sheer drop some thirty feet to the stone floor below.

9-23 Broad Restway


 

The hall here widens into a sort of restway. There are stone benches along the west and north wall, and signs that someone lit a campfire on the floor here long ago. The walls are painted with murals of some sort of kitchen, complete with cooking fires and pans.

9-22 Spikefoot


 

The floor of this small chamber is a mishmash of loose stones and circular holes, stretching from one side to the other.

  • Any character passing through this room must make a save vs. wands every 5 feet traveled. Failure indicates that they have stepped on a stone that is actually a pressure trigger, which will cause a 5’ long spike to shoot up from the floor. It will attack as a 5 HD monster and inflict 1d8 damage on a successful strike, before sliding back into the ground.

The stone walls of this hall juncture bear the faded impressions of murals, that have been rubbed off of the walls either by time, wind, or heat. They are still visible only as vaguely humanoid silhouettes, giving an eerie feel to the chamber.

9-20 Dusty Closet


 

This large, dusty storage chamber houses a number of skeletal remains. Mixed and mingled, this tangle of human and elven skeletons have rotted clothing, long decayed and useless armor, and other fragments of gear thrown haphazardly about the room.

The primary stand out feature of this room is the northeastern corner, which has been decorated with a strange painting of a grinning skull.

  • Pressing on one of the skull’s teeth will open a door leading to a brief passage up to Room 18.

This was perhaps a place where people could gather on their way through the passages here. The walls still bear hints of murals depicting a sort of outdoor market, but have been smeared with all manner of unpleasant substances.

9-16 The Sauna


 

This chamber is filled with steam, that rises from small vents set in the floor. The walls and floor are slick, and the heat is intense.

  • 2d4 rounds after a door is opened to this room, it will close by itself, and both doors will seal for 1 hour. After both doors are sealed, the steam and heat within the room will intensify, doing a cumulative 1d4 damage to those within the room each round (1d4 the first round, 2d4 the next, and so forth). These doors may be forced open as if barred, or may be opened by a thief or similarly skilled character as if locked.

9-15 A Long Hall


 

This long, broad chamber has an arched ceiling that soars high above. At either end is a large statue of an elven man, on what seems to be a rotating base, each one holding a hand up, with palm flat.

  • One round after anyone enters, the statue on the opposite end of the room will rotate to present its open palm toward the characters, and a loud bell will ring. Every 1d4 rounds, it will rotate, either facing the wall behind it, or facing the characters. If characters attempt to move while the statue is facing toward them, they must make a save vs. spells or be Held as per hold person for 1 full turn. If characters are attempting to move during a round in which the statue is set to turn, roll initiative for the statue as per normal.
  • The ringing bell will trigger a random encounter check every time it goes off, as creatures come to investigate.

This juncture room has murals along the south, east, and west walls depicting various elven wizards in some sort of lab or library. The northern wall has an image of a noble elven man painted upon it, with hands outstretched and pointing east and west.

9-13 Master of Golems


 

This scattered room is part bedroom, part library, part lab. Worn furnishings are pushed up against the walls, while several shelves are stacked with tattered and well used books. Diagrams of various arcane sorts are scattered over work tables.

  • Brogan should have any spells you feel are appropriate and you want available to the party.

9-12 Hall of Assembly


 

This hall is dominated by a series of columns lining each side of the chamber, supporting a tall ceiling far above, from which a bright glow shines down. A few large stone slabs are positioned here and there in the center of the room, upon which are scattered bits and pieces of bronze and stone statues.

9-11 Odd Pair of Rooms


 

This room is split into two sides by three large blocks of stone. The stones reach from floor to ceiling, and allow for passage between the two halves of the room. The walls are inscribed with thousands of elven names, carved with hammer and chisel. On the floor between the large blocks of stone are scattered many coins, across the middle two passages between the rooms.

  • Stepping between any two of the three large stone blocks requires a character to make a saving throw vs. spell. On a failure, they begin to take 3d6 damage for each round spent between the stones, as their flesh begins to visibly wither and decay. If a character leaves the space between the stones, the damage stops. If a character leaves and subsequently steps back in between any two of the central stones, they must save again, even if they passed before.

9-10 The Elevator


 

On the wall beside the door into this room is a button. If the elevator is on this floor, the door will be open. If it is not, then if the button is pushed, a glyph on the wall above it will glow softly, and after one round per floor it has to travel, the elevator will arrive, and the door will open.

  • Inside of the elevator, the numbers 6 to 9 are carved onto the wall. Touching one of the numbers will cause it to glow, and a horrible shudder will run through the room, as it noisily begins to move to the appropriate floor. The elevator may travel to levels 6, 7, 8, and 9.

9-9 Stone Closet


 

This closet seems to have a number of half finished stone statues arrayed along the walls. Mostly human or elven, the carved statues are in various states of completion, and lean haphazardly against the wall. The floor is littered with broken bits of stone.

9-8 Chamber of Resonant Thoughts


 

This oddly smooth chamber has the walls painted to depict a few creatures of legend: owlbears, pegasus, chimera, gorgons, but in an oddly angular form.

  • Anyone who enters this chamber is affected as if wearing a medallion of thought projection while within it. Surface thoughts are broadcast to any other sentient being within the room, as soon as they occur.

This square room seems strangely plain.

  • 2d4 rounds after light from a light source enters this room, whether it be directly or via a reflection from a mirror, that light source will be snuffed out. Torches will be snuffed and be unable to be relit, lamps will suddenly run out of oil, magical effects will be subject to a dispel magic.
